Preschool Activities

 Morning Prayer:

As a Christian based preschool, students learn to recite the Pledge of Allegiance and participate in a morning prayer thanking God for our blessings.

Circle Time:

Children are introduced to music, finger plays, poems, plays and flannelboard stories. Circle Time is designed to strengthen your child’s social and listening skills. Circle Time is a FUN approach to learning!

Art:

Through art activities, children are exposed to various art materials in order to stimulate children’s natural creativity. Each art activity is also designed to strengthen children’s fine motor skills.

Story/Language:

Storytime is an important part of our daily routine. Not only does it feature theme-related concepts, but it also helps foster self expression among the children. Storytime may be presented to students through reading, read-a-long books, flannelboard stories, puppet stories, videos or fingerplays. This is always a favorite part of the day for the children.

Creative Movement:

During our creative movement period, children display self expression by dancing, running, skipping, leaping, and most of all – having FUN!

Science/Cooking:

The science and cooking period is a favorite among the children. Children are exposed to concepts and procedures which often strengthen their reasoning skills. Along with learning measuring skills, reading numbers, and having fun, students get the opportunity to create a delicious snack.

Computer Science:

Children are introduced to computer concepts which enhance their math, pre-reading and reasoning skills. This helps them prepare for when they are introduced to computers in school. Students will have an advantage of already having knowledge of how computers work.

Free Choice:

At KIDS COUNT, children are respected and encouraged to make choices. Our free choice period allows children to further explore and learn from chosen play items. Preschool activities are fun learning experiences that prepare children for Kindergarten.
